Broward College Symphonic Band - Oct. 9th
The Broward College Symphonic Band will give their first concert of the season on Sunday the 9th called “God Bless America – Patriotic Selections”. A follow up concert by the Broward Symphony on Sunday the 16th will feature Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique & more surprises for young listeners (think video games). Homage to Bach - Oct. 9th
The first concert of Chameleon’s 10th anniversary Season is coming up this Sunday, October 9th with a program called Homage to Bach with a piece that you normally hear performed on solo piano, Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Music starts at 3pm this Sunday at the Leiser Center in Ft. Lauderdale. chameleonmusicians.org
Hairspray - Oct. 12th - Nov. 13th
Hairspray was such a success that it inspired a major motion picture with a dedicated cult following. Hairspray opens October 12th and runs through November 13th at the Actor’s Playhouse at the Miracle Theater in Coral Gables. The curtain goes up at 8pm Wednesdays through Saturdays and at 2pm on Sundays. actorsplayhouse.org
Bridge and Tunnel - Now through Oct. 23rd
Bob Carter’s Actor’s Workshop and Repertory Company’s latest offering is Bridge and Tunnel, a touching and funny view of the multicultural immigrant makeup of the outer boroughs of NYC. Local favorite Karen Stephens plays a variety of characters in this one woman show. Bridge and Tunnel runs now through October 23.
