Cleveland Orchestra announces new Principal Guest Conductor

Big news was announced at a press conference earlier this week, Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero has been named Principal Guest Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra’s South Florida residency! In addition to conducting concerts during the residency, Guerrero will also be in charge of education and outreach programs. Guerrero will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra Thursday the 3rd through Saturday the 5th, for times and tickets, visit arshtcenter.org.

Canadian Brass
The Canadian Brass have treated audiences to their signature sound since 1970, and this weekend they’ll make a stop in South Florida. The program will feature pieces the group has become famous for, as well as some new additions to their repertoire. The Canadian Brass play at 7:30, Saturday March 5th at the Schmidt Family Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, part of Festival of the Arts Boca. Get more information at festivaloftheartsboca.org.

Museum of Art - Fort Lauderdale
A new exhibit of Oceanic and African art opened this week at The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale - Nova Southeastern University. This lively and engaging twin installation that includes wall hangings, totems, wood carvings, and musical instruments. 10 year old pianist
Ethan Bortnick began playing a keyboard at the age of three and was composing music by the age of five. He is able to play any song by ear.
