Miami Wind Symphony

On Sunday the 10th, the Miami Wind Symphony will play their inaugural performance at the Gusman Center for the Art’s Olympia Theater. The program has some show stoppers that will put the spotlight on trumpet soloist Brian Neal, plus Calvin Hughes from WPLG Local 10 will narrate Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait. The Red Thread

The World Premiere of the The Red Thread is next Saturday the 16th.

In the play, a widowed weaver has been working on a special tapestry for three years. It’s stolen by his two oldest daughters, leaving the youngest daughter to go through a series of trials to return the masterpiece. The world premiere of the The Red Thread is at 7pm, Saturday April 16th at the Playground Theatre, Miami Shores. The matinee on Sunday the 17th is part of Chinatown Miami, and will be followed by a dragon parade. You can get tickets online at theplaygroundtheatre.com.

NWS, Parisian Glimmers Wallcast

The next Wallcast is this Saturday, April 9th, for Parisian Glimmers; a Ravel packed concert with pianist Jean Yves Thiboudet. Wallcast concerts are free, all you need is a blanket to enjoy the music outside.Check out nws.edu for a complete schedule.

Symphony of the Americas

The Symphony of the Americas will be joined by Broadway singer Franc D’Ambrosio, Eduardo Aladren, Courtnay Budd and Kam Cheng for a concert called “Opera to Broadway”. Music starts at 8:15 on Tuesday April 12th. For tickets visit browardcenter.org.
