Summerfest 2011
Summerfest is the longest running music festival of its kind in South Florida. It’s not just a festival, it’s a cultural exchange with European chamber orchestras for a month of performances with the Symphony of the Americas. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Summerfest, this year’s guest musicians are from the Remenyi Ede Chamber orchestra from Hungary. Sondheim’s “Company”
Coming up this weekend, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival presents a very special limited engagement of “Company”. This film version features the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Some of the cast includes Neil Patrick Harris, Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Patty Lupone and Martha Plimpton. A total of 5 screenings will be shown Saturday July 2nd through Monday the 4th  at Cinema Paradiso in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.  fliff.com

“Metrouroboros”
A new Master of Fine Arts exhibition called “Metrouroboros” opens Saturday, July 9th at the University of Miami, Coral Gables. The body of work on view is by Ashley Ford, it deals with places that we pass everyday, but don’t really pay much attention to, and the interactions we have with them. Friday the 29th at the University’s Wynwood Project Space, with an opening night reception on Saturday July 9th at 6pm. as.miami.edu/art.

“Dirty Little Secrets”
If you’re the sort of person that believes some things should be kept to yourself, a new late-night review presented by the City Theatre at the Broward Center will prove you wrong. “Dirty Little Secrets” with Jai Rodriguez, star of the popular TV show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and musicals like “Rent” and “The Producers” will be on stage at 10pm at the Broward Center Saturday, July 2nd. browardcenter.org.
